    Up for sale is an 8 1/2" x 11"  1-page handwritten, long personal letter from former Secretary of Education Shirley Hufstedler to Director Lee Kimche McGrath
    (U.S.) and reads in full "Dear Lee, I want you to know that I appreciate your dedicated work for I.M.S and for the Department.  One of the bright spots in my service as Secretary was the opportunity to work with you and to visit museums.  I shall always remember our happy trip to Austin and San Antonio.  Many thanks to you and warmest wishes for a rewarding New Year.  Affectionate regards, Shirley Hofstedler"
    The letter is generally in good condition.
    It has some wear and browning due to age.  It has 2 creases from left to right where it was originally folded when mailed.  Some wear around the edges and other small dings.   The top of the letter has a mark from a paper clip.
